You are familiar with data communications software as an engineering and research area. You know the methods of analyzing communications systems and services. You can present your analysis and write a technical report. You can find information from and reference scientific literature. The course is particularly aimed at new Masters students starting their studies at Aalto University. |
Content |
This course addresses methodological questions relevant to students who specialize in data communications software. The course covers typical methods of systems engineering: modeling, simulation, data analysis and proof-of-concept implementation, as well as research skills including finding information sources, writing a technical paper, and presenting it. The literature study can be extended to a practical project where the methodology is applied. |

This course is mandatory for the first-year Master’s students of NordSecMob, Master's Programme in Mobile Computing - Services and Security, and Data Communications Software who completed their bachelor degree in another university. It is recommended for all students who specialize in data communications software. The Fall 2012 edition of T-110.6130 is only offered as a 5 credit course. |
