The special assignment is an independently conducted technical or scientific research or software project in the field of networking, online services, telecommunications business, or information security. It can also be a literature survey on an advanced topic.

You can also plan the assignment with one of our researchers, lecturers or doctoral students and then have it approved by a professor. 

It is important to agree beforehand: (1) the project goals, (2) number of credits, (3) deliverables for grading, and (4) deadline for completion of the project. With a prior agreement, the work can be carried out in groups. The grading is normally on the scale 1-5. In special cases, with prior agreement, the course may also be graded pass/failed. Please make sure that these details are recorded in written form at the start of the project, e.g. in an email.
