T-110.5290 Seminar on Network Security P (4 cr)

English Course

Participation in the integrated English for scientific writing course KIE-98.1700 (1cr) is optional, but strongly recommended. Registration for the integrated English course is done in the sign-up e-mail of the seminar. The course focuses on writing scientific English and the students will receive personal feedback on their texts from the course lecturer, Roger Munn, who is a native English speaker.

Completion of the integrated English for scientific writing course counts towards the written foreign language requirement of the Bachelor's/Master's degree. However, in order to get 1 credit from the English course, the student is required to participate in all the mandatory meetings. There is no way to make up for absence.

There are six meetings in total for the English course; see the lecture schedule. Note that the pre-course essay in the first course meeting is a 'diagnostic' task to determine your  strengths and weaknesses when writing in English. It is not a test: no marks will be given nor taken away, but you will get feedback.
