Timeline

Date Description 
18.1 Y228 16-18 The first meeting for all participants is on 18th of January in room Y228 (in the main building!) from 16 to 18 pm. During the meeting the seminar arrangements are explained. Tutors have made short descriptions of possible topics for papers. 
 
  • Students choose their topics by sending E-mail to iwork@tml.hut.fi.  Instruction about what to include in the e-mail is found here .
  • 23.1 at 16.00 DL for signing up

    2. outline of the paper
    3. source material list
    to the tutor and iwork@tml.hut.fi for comments and suggestions. 
    13.2  Feedback concerning the table of contents, outlining, and source material from the tutors.
    20.2 room Y427a at 17-20 Optional: Short course on writing and presenting a scientific paper in English by Anna Reiter in the main building. Very recommended especially for those attending the seminar for the first time.

    The file with the first draft is sent to:

    for comments and suggestions.

    13.3 Tutors inform the course iwork@tml.hut.fi of those who have dropped out. Opponents are chosen. 
    27.3 at 16.00

    COMPLETE PAPER to the tutors, opponents and iwork@tml.hut.fi.
    10.4 18-20 room T3 The second meeting for all participants is on 10th of April in room T3 from 18 to 20. During the meeting details about opponing a paper and stay in Sjökulla are discussed. (The list of presentations and posters will be published on 16.4.)
    11.4 The comments of the complete paper from tutors and opponents. 
    16.4 The list of presentations and posters is published.
    17.4 at 16.00 The deadline for the final corrections. Send the file to your tutor, your opponent and iwork@tml.hut.fi.
    These papers will be printed in the conference proceedings.
    25-26.4 Two day seminar will be held at Sjökulla from the 25th to the 26th of April. Accepted papers will be presented to other participants and conference proceedings are distributed. Attending the seminar is mandatory
    2.5 (previously: 30.4)  Comments of the presentation and the paper, what was good, what could be better, what should be done before publishing etc. from tutors and opponents to the authors, the authors' tutors, the professor and the iwork@tml.hut.fi. 
    10.5 The requested revisions are made to the papers according to the feedback in the seminar. Afterwards the best papers will be published in in the laboratorys own C-series. Send the paper to your tutor and iwork@tml.hut.fi.
