Course information
Providing services and content in a mobile evironment presents
several challenges of varying type. This course focuses on the
technical framework required and the various solutions to the diverse
problems, especially on the applications and middleware levels.
Lectures
The seminar will meet for the first time on Tuesday 16.10. at 14-15 in
T3. The actua seminar sessionsa are II period Wednesday 12.15-14.00 at
T2 and Friday 8.30-10.00 at T2.
Requirements and participation
Prerequisites for this
course are the course T-110.300 Telecommunications
architectures or equivalent, and a seminar, for example T-110.5290
Network Security or T-110.5190 Internetworking. This
course is targeted for post-graduate students and advanced under-graduate
students. Priority is given to post-graduate students and students who are
planning for post-graduate studies in Telecommunications Software and
Multimedia.
Course structure
The course consists of presentations prepared by the participating students
covering the course book. Active participation during lectures and
their planning is required.
Passing the course
- Attend the lectures and participating in the lecture discussion and return to Optima a lecture diary for each lecture
documenting your learning
- Give a presentation, there is a guide to help you design it.
- If you are absent more than once, for each class you are away
from, write a summary of the chapter, Maximum length for each summary
is two pages (this means that you have to understand the contents of
the chapter to be able to condense it).
Deadline for summaries is
-will be decided-.
Return the summaries to the Optima system
in some usual format (text, PDF, Word Doc), preferrably plain text.
Not Zipped.
Grading is explained in the Lecturing Guide.
Language
The language for the presentations and discussion is English.
