Configuration and name management
Configuration management treats the managed objects from the network point of view
It is used to initialize, operate on, and close objects as well as to reconfigure them
Configuration management monitors the states of systems and detects significant changes
According to X.731, every managed object can be in one of four states:
- Enabled - the object is ready for use but not in use
- Disabled - the object is not ready for use
- Active - the object is active and ready for use
- Busy - the object is available but cannot accept service requests because of the current load
The object need not appear in all these four states
