3. BSC-BSC handover

• The mobile station switches between BTSs as well as between the BSCs at the same time.

• The handover is controlled by the target BSC.

4. MSC-MSC handover

• When switching between the BTSs and BSCs, the mobile station may also switch from one MSC (Mobile Services Switching Center) area to another.

• The handover is controlled by the target MSC.
