2. Internet Telephony

   1. Kuvaile pääpiirteissään seuraavien protokollien toiminta. (6 p.)
      • SIP
      • MGCP
      • H.323
   2. Vertaile lyhyesti eri puhelinprotokollia (3 p.)

   3. Rich Seifert, (President of Networks and Communications Consulting) sanoo haastattelussaan mm. seuraavaa:

      Voice-over IP works, where works is defined as, I can move a voice over an IP network. Does it work to the level of quality that you expect out of a telephone, especially a worldwide telephone system? No. Voice-over IP today is a toy. It's a toy. You can go to Fry's and you can buy a piece of software and it's a toy. And in fact, you see if I can call my grandmother in Italy over the Internet, the only reason it works is because very few people are using it. If everyone tried using it, it wouldn't work. If you're in marketing, you really don't want to get into a business where the more successful you are selling your product, the worse it is. This is not a good trend line.
