Security management

• Security management provides the manager of a system with the means for managing the security mechanisms of the network

• Security management related functions:

  • Authorization
  • Access control
  • Management of encryption and keys
  • Authentication
  • Maintenance and manipulation of security logs

• A detected attack against security mechanisms causes a security alarm, which includes three parameters:

  • Event type
  • Event information
  • Event reply
