Subscriber Identity Module (SIM)

• The SIM is the personalized part of the mobile station.

• The implementation of SIM is done using a memory card.

• The SIM contains the identification information of

a subscriber.

• Terminal identification utilizes a IMEI code (International

Mobile Equipment Identifier).

• For the network operator, the SIM guarantees the validity

of the subscription.

• For the subscriber, the SIM provides privacy over personal

activities.
