NordSec 2010 Conference — Accommodation

Radisson Blu Hotel Espoo

Some rooms have been reserved for conference attendees from a nearby hotel, Radisson Blu Hotel, Espoo. The hotel is comfortably located in walking distance from the conference site (about 1.0 km) and the banquet restaurant (about 0.5 km). The hotel was recently renovated and it reopened in September 2010. The package rates for 27-29 October 2010 are:

118 € / single standard class room / night
128 € / double standard class room / night

The rates include breakfast, internet access, sauna, and all taxes.

In order to get a room with the above terms, you must book your room by sending email to reservations.finland@radissonblu.com and quote the allotment code "Aalto Yliopisto". The booking must be done before 11 October 2010, 18:00 (GMT+3).

Stadion Hostel

NordSecMob students (and possibly also other students) are staying in Stadion Hostel located in Helsinki Olympic Stadium, near Helsinki city center. There is a direct bus connection (about 20 min; routes 194 and 195) from the hostel to the campus; the distance from the hostel to the bus stop is about 0.6 km.

Other Options

If you prefer to book a hotel in downtown Helsinki or in Tapiola, then at least the following hotels listed in alphabetical order are conveniently close to direct bus connections to the conference site (less than 0.5 km):

  • Hotelli Helka, in downtown Helsinki. Good bus connections (about 15-20 min; routes 102 and 103) from Kamppi terminal. Mention Aalto-yliopisto/TKK when you book your room (reservations@helka.fi) in order to get a cheaper price!
  • Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, in downtown Helsinki. Good bus connections (about 15-20 min; routes 102 and 103) from Kamppi terminal.
  • Scandic Simonkenttä, in downtown Helsinki. Good bus connections (about 15-20 min; routes 102 and 103) from Kamppi terminal.
  • Sokos Hotel Tapiola Garden, in Tapiola, Espoo. Very good bus connections (5-10 min; routes 2, 4, 10, 15, 194, 195, and 550). The hotel is also in walking distance from the conference site (about 1.7 km)
  • Sokos Hotel Vaakuna Helsinki, in downtown Helsinki. Good bus connections (about 15-20 min; routes 102 and 103) from Kamppi terminal.
