Tech students

The current Data Communications Software major is a very popular study topic at TKK; altogether 284 MSc theses have been finalised for this major 1998-2007. The majority of master's theses are done to the industry although recently more and more students are choosing the academic research community for writing their thesis if they are considering to become postgraduate students. Still in the 90s a large part of the master's thesis works were done to big companies that operated on the mobile sector: large network and hardware vendors, operators, software houses, consulting companies, etc. In the 21st century the trend is that the significance of the small and middle sized insdustry as an employer is seen and thus a larger part of theses works are done for smaller software houses, consulting companies and broadly for several economic and industry sectors because data communications software know-how is utilized everywhere. In addition it is delightful to see a spark of entrepreneurship as students and graduates start up on their own companies.
